An Easy Way to File Form 2290 Online

Filing the form 2290 online is preferred by the IRS for people owning highway vehicles. However, they have made it mandatory for people owning more than 25 vehicles to file the form 2290 electronically. Online submission of these forms also results in accurate submission of the forms, from anywhere anytime the taxpayer wants.

The information required for the proper filing of the 2290 form includes the name of the business with the correct spelling, address details of the place where the firm is registered and the EIN. For people who do not have the EIN, they should apply for the same immediately since the SSN is no longer valid. In the interim period, the taxpayers can go in for a manual submission of the form.

In addition to the above details, the bank account and routing number are also required while filling up the 2290 formonline. There are three modes of payment authorized by the IRS. Of these while the direct debit and EFTPS are to be availed off by taxpayers filing their forms electronically, the facility for check payment is only valid for those going in for a manual submission of the same.

After the successful submission of these forms, the IRS gives a watermarked acknowledgement receipt mentioning the date of filing which can be printed and kept as proof of having submitted form 2290 online.
